Has anyone here picked up Dead or Alive yet? I read some reviews and it sounds great, but the couter system seems a little bit more for the hardcore. Can you guys give me your thoughts on it?

Valve vs. Vivendi Universal dogfight heats up in US District Court

The two-year-old dispute playing out in Federal Court revs up as milestones, court date approach.
Last week, news of Valve finally shipping the Half-Life 2 release candidate to publisher Vivendi Universal Games (VUG) grabbed headlines. However, behind the scenes, the two companies have been involved in a much less upbeat kind of transaction--an ongoing legal battle that has garnered little attention from gamers.

On August 14, 2002, Valve served its then-publisher Sierra On-Line (now Sierra Entertainment, a Vivendi Universal Games brand) with a lawsuit in the US District Court of Washington, Western Division, alleging copyright infringement--the result of Sierra placing Valve games in Internet cafés in the US and abroad. "Sierra has in the past and continues to reproduce, use, distribute, and/or license one or more of the Valve Games with regard to 'cyber cafés,'" the complaint read. "Sierra's activities are outside the scope of Sierra's limited license...and therefore constitute copyright infringement in violation of the Copyright Act of 1976."

And so it began.

Please read all-of-the-way through and participate, and get as many friends as you can to participate, or poll them and post or e-mail me with the response.

Talk to your friends and find out (5) of their favorite X-Box, multi-player games. PS2 is later in my plan.

I would appreciate that you fill out your fav's, and then, have any and/or all friends you can also do it. Or e-mail me at JJMaul5@aol.com

It is really important, and will benefit all gamers if you do this. Trust me, it is for a future business station. (In brief: A nation-wide server of stations holding from 16 players up-wards of 128 players, Dave & Busters is in line for 23 of the +128 player stations!, stationed at Mall's, GameStop's & EB's, and Best Buys, etc. all over the country. Over 1700 are in order to be set up, and will have Real-time standings for players.)

So far I have, Halo, Halo2, Crimson Skies, Rainbow Six, MechAssault2, DDR games for X-Box.

I NEED more input from the public. There will be a 2-month beta test beginning November 9th, like the date?, going until January. Please get involved with that too (more info on it to come eventually).

We are trying to get involved with Y100 (a big Philadelphia-area radio station) for advertising, participation, and funding. (A letter and outline has been sent to your dad already Justin by the guy whom I am working with.) So you may be hearing about it on there. It is called FragIsle LLC and you can bet it will change the multi-player gaming industry. So many large companies are fight to sponsor us and work with us, and you can help us now too! Please do so. If you're at college, ask EVERYONE YOU CAN, and e-mail me the results at JJMaul5@aol.com, or post them here. PLEASE! This is a revolutionary step and we need all of you! Thank you all!

If you are reading this in a Video Game/Halo/Halo 2/X-Box community, I ask you to e-mail me, as I cannot guarantee I will be able to check this again. JJMaul5@aol.com. Or respond to the most recent Entry in my journal (TuabRy05)

Silent Hill 4 has been released today for the Playstation 2 and the X-Box.

Personally, I've yet to play any of the Silent Hill series simply because I feel I would be selling out Capcom's Resident Evil series. Call me skeptical I suppose.

Which brings me to the question: What are your thoughts and opinions on the Silent Hill series? Should I play it?

Resident Evil: Outbreak File 2 has just been released in Japan.

For those who are not in the know, Resident Evil: Outbreak is by far one of the best Resident of Evils ever made. The very first multiplayer of its series has just had a second game released with all the same characters from the first one.
File 2 is added stories that coexides with Outbreak 1 and the Setember 30th incident when Raccoon City encountered the outbreak of the T-Virus. Outbreak and File 2 take place the exact same time as RE 2 and 3. It's pretty nifty how they were able to add all of them and make them cross eachothers path. Lately I've found myself addicted to Outbreak for its story and online features.

Pros:

Going online with upto 4 players simutaneously, braving each scenario not knowing what is around the corner.
If a door requires a certain key, chances are, you can just boot it off its hinges.
A variety of weapons.
Unlimited monsters.
Each character has unique skills
If you run out of ammo, you can plow zombies out of your way.
More range of Melee weapons (Iron Pipes, Knives, Scrub Brushes etc) One character can even fashion new weapons out of some old ones.
Costume modes.
Friendly Fire mode.

Cons:

Going online, you have a chance of teaming up with a complete moron who gets themselves and the whole team killed.
People being greedy over certain items.
Some lag times.
Some lack of cooperation at times (not always)

File 2 will have the same characters but with more features, attacks, monsters and story. Of course, with the same idiocy from some players, if not, maybe more. That's what friendly fire is all about!
